Lou's Fish Shack

Lou's Fish Shack was packed for their Alfresco dining on a beautiful sunny day, the food was acceptably good, although not extraordinary, but the service was probably the worst I've experienced in Fisherman's Wharf, over the last 15 years. Who was my server? Man? Woman? Willing to exchange goods or services for money. Hungry, and in need of seafood. Any suggestions add how I can get water, and my food ordered within a 15-minute period? The only one who seemed to cared was a bespeckled young male employee / manager, but otherwise it was a service island, no pun intended. A bowl of seafood chowder was about $10, a kid's hamburger meal was about $9, and alcoholic beverages we're in keeping for the neighborhood of the heavily touristy Fisherman's Wharf. Street parking nearby, or paid lots, wheelchair accessible first floor, a host will seat you at your table, and modest prices (again for the neighborhood). $$$ out of $$$$$. The jury's still out on recommending Lou's Fish Shack, or not.

Nice place to eat in Fishermans wahrf. Fresh food, good selections of beers. I recommend to eat here.

Fresh seafood as one would expect from any restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf. Outdoor seating option is available and there's a kid's menu which offers the standard American fare for the less adventurous little ones. I wouldn't recommend this place for vegetarians.

Great food and great atmosphere. They forgot to give us our ceviche appetizer, however. Fish and chips were amazing!

Great place to sit outside on a sunny day and people watch. Good food. Good service. Tourist prices, but worth it for the waterfront.

Most of everything was decent, but be warned, the 'lobster roll' was more like a cold lobster salad sandwich 🤢

Wings were great, and service is also very good. I would recommend this place.

It took forever to be waited on. There were only 3 tables with customers. The waitress never came back to see if I needed anything. She spent all her time talking with her coworkers. Used to love goi g here but probably won't ever go back

Service or lack thereof was inadequate. We came in and we had no waitress for 95% of the time. People who came in after us were served a significantly quicker, had to keep flagging down for service. Food was okay.

Food was alright but the extra stars are given for the free entertainment on Saturday night

A favorite place for Seafood. Super tasty. Looking forward to coming back with my relatives. This place has a great feel to it.

Great service and location! Popcorn shrimp is rocking, crab roll has a little left to be desired, but the bread was awesome!

A welcome lunch after a lovely long walk through the city to the coast. Great to sit outside and enjoy cold beer and cerviche while people watching.

Food and portions were great! Really enjoyed sitting outside and people watching. However, service was just so so, and the place was not as crowded as other nearby restaurants.

Id say this had decent drinks, decent cocktails and the buffalo wings were tasty however the service was a bit frustrating. Decor and the bar in general was well maintained, its right next to fisherman's wharf and its got a pleasant outside seating area.

The crab roll was excellent and the portion was very nice size. I would come back for the crab roll!!

We enjoyed our meal at Lou's Fish Shack while visiting friends in the city. Everything was delicious and the staff were friendly and accomodating.

Fish and chips were great! Also a great people watching spot on the patio. Good margaritas as well!

Carlos my waiter was awesome and very friendly. Joshua my chef fixed my food perfect!! Great big jumbo shrimp and home made tarter sauce was the bomb😋

Terrible service. My special was under-cooked so I sent it back. But the waiter just left it on the table. He offered me another dish, I chose the daily soup which took half an hour and was lukewarm. We we got the bill the undercooked pork item was still on it. I was so unimpressed and wish I had eaten from one of the street vendors.

Happy hour was decent. Good choice of cheap eats in a Uber touristy spot

Cozy environment and friendly staff. Happy Hour food has fairly good selection. Ahi Poke was excellent. Burgers are satisfactory. Fries hit the spot.

Fish sticks were fresh and flaky. I had the crab bisque and it had big chicks of crab. The clam chowder was also delicious.

Delicious food and great service

Came in here after Blue Angel's for food and drinks (4 adults, 4 kids).Adults shared 6 appetizers (wings just ok, truffle fries were outstanding). Kids all had different meals and all were very good.Waitress was excellent.

Came in at Sat 2nd Feb, guy at the door asked what we wanted. We was laughing with some girls and said everything is closed and closed the door. We moved on but heard band playing upstairs. Very bad experience.

Had a blast at this restaurant for my birthday. I enjoyed the food, the drinks and the live entertainment. Willie G and his band were live there. Overall great experience. Thank you.

First meal in SF. Delicious fresh food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend the Mahi Mahi tacos!

Cute ocean themed bistro with a killer outdoor seating area in the Fisherman's Wharf area. Lou's has friendly, attentive staff. Wooden seating is available inside or outside in the sunshine. Food portions are standard in size and I can highly recommend the succulent cerviche for starters. Happy hour specials will add a lot of value to your fresh seafood experience. Overall a decent place in a high foot traffic area, could improve with more healthy menu options. #cerviche #seafood #happyhour

This place really nice got the Fish and chips must say the fish was really good not fishy at all really fresh also got the popcorn shrimp omg it was so fresh and do good and they give you a lot of them a lil on the pricey side but the food was good would not suggest eating outside on a busy day unless your off the sidewalk side.

They are a good company, overpriced, understaffed and silly San Francisco has a 4% communist penalty from the local government. Tourist trap in a nutshell. This took away from the meal experience. Not sure if them or the local government made them put the Gender sign up, but news flash humans come in only two DNA flavors, male and female. The owner should replace this sign with "restroom" if he is legally allowed to do so.

Lous is a great place to go , they have good food and nice people who work there. The upstairs has a band sometimes.

A perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy the day. The food was great and the service was friendly.

Must stop in if your visiting the peer. Some of the best bread in town. Great atmosphere with smell of the salt air and large windows that allow for people watching, Lou's Fish Shack is a San Francisco staple on the tourist trap menu. I had the pasta and it was excellent. My dad had fish and chips and reported they were flakey and just the right amount of batter to keep from becoming soggy.

Happy Hour drinks and appetizers lured us to explore. Buffalo Chkn Wings are great! Calamari is very ordinary. Draft beer choices limited to 5 and not so good. Salmon turned out to be just right along with Cod Fish Tacos

Kinda pricey for something as simple as fish / shrimp & chips but still good food. OK service. Very busy place.Had a weird experience with an older waiter with black hair & glasses. She pushed us out saying they were full & not taking anymore customers, then unwillingly agreed to let us eat outside (it was pretty empty outside, so no reason to deny us the first time).We asked a young, brown haired employee if we could have a seat inside when available & we were immediately seated inside...? No wait at all. The customers after us did not get denied or have to wait like we did either, so I have no idea what the older woman’s deal was.

Great supper spot. Loved the dungeness crab bisque with sourdough bowl. Tip i learnedwas to eat the bread inside with a fork sho you can dip it in soup. Easier than tearing bread with full bowl soup. The farm salad was fabulous. My daughter and i shared the salad and the soup and was very filling. Reasonably priced. Great service. We stopped in after our afternoon at Alcatraz. Great time.

This outside view is just as well in the inside; nice ,clean tables ,friendly customer service the food was delicious. This is a great place for lunch on the wharf

Food was pretty good! The fries were cold and the bread for my crab roll wasn't warm, but other than that, the food was delicious. Little pricey.

Good Food and good Service

The food was great, the location was convenient and the service was better than most. My girlfriend loved her Caesar with prawns and my burger was much better than expected as this was a seafood place.
